RESOLUTION NO. 8571-12 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, : ~. Madigan, Nowlin, Powers, Smith. A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least five (5) members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest pet•iod allowed by law, authotizing the Mayot• to accept, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, donation totaling $1,500 from various sources within the community to subsidize the purchase of T-Shirts fm• the Lakewood Board of Education's 12°i Annual D.A.R.E. Basketball Tournament. WHEREAS, various community groins and individuals have generously donated to allow the City of Lakewood to purchase T-Shirts for the annual DARE Basketball Tournament; and WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) of its members determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the basketball tournament is scheduled for April 21, 2012. Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. That the Mayor on behalf of the City of Lakewood is hereby authorized to accept donations in an amount estimated at $1,500 for the purchase of T-Shirts fot• the Lakewood Board of Education's 12`h Annual DARE Basketball Tournament from the following: First Federal of Lakewood Angelo's Pizza Greek Village Retired Irish Police Society Zappitellis GT Brothers Auto Barroco Grill Italian Creations Slife Heating and Cooling 911 Driving School Max Tan Councilwoman Mary Louise Madigan Lakewood Outdoor Basketball Association Lakewood Alive Judge Patrick Carroll FOP Lodge #25 Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements.
