RESOLUTION NO. 8577-12 BY~ Anderson, Bullock, ~uris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION extending congratulations to Melissa Rerko on achieving the Girl <br />Scouts of the USA Gold Award. <br />WHEREAS, the Gold Award is achieved by only 5.4 percent of eligible girl scouts, <br />representing a girl's commitment to leadership, creativity and making the world a better place, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, earning Girl Scout's highest honor shows that Melissa Rerko undertook <br />enumerable acts of civic and community duties tluoughout her scouting years, and <br />WHEREAS, Melissa Rerko exemplified the Girl Scout tradition of community <br />involvement by working with peers and church groups to organize, publicize and provide basic <br />necessities to residents of the City Mission while also fulfilling a take action project where she <br />donated uniquely sewn pillow cases she made or had trained others to make honoring the unique <br />inhabitants of the Mission, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council wishes to join the family and friends of Melissa Rerko in <br />congratulating her on achieving the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council extends to Melissa Rerko its heartiest congratulations and <br />that of all the citizens of this community, on achieving the Girl Scouts of the USA Gold Award. <br />Section 2.
