RESOLUTION NO. 8608-12 <br />BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RGSOL,UTION calling upon the citizens of Lakewood to join the Lakewood Fire Department <br />in celebrating National Fallen Firefighter Memorial Day on Sunday, October 7, 2012. <br />4VHERBAS, Fallen Firelighter Memorial Day serves to honor firefighters who Iost their lives in <br />the I ine of duty over the past year; and <br />4VIIEREAS, Fallen Firefighter Memorial Day is celebrated nationally, on the first Sunday of <br />October each year; and <br />~VIIEREAS, firefighters play an essential role in the protection of life and property of the <br />Lakewood eonununiq;and <br />WIIEREAS, the City of Lakewood will pause to recognize the ultimate sacrifice of all fallen <br />firefighters and their families, at a brief ceremony on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Noon at Fire Station #I. <br />Now therefore, <br />BG IT RESOLVED BY TI IE Cf[ Y OF LAKENrOOD, OH1O: <br />Section I. 'T'hat this Council and Mayor designate and proclaim Sunday, October 7, 2012 as <br />Fallen Firefighter Memorial Day in the City oC Lakewood and call upon the citizens of Lakewood to <br />participate in honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a <br />copy of this Resolution to Chief Scott I<. Gilman, Fire Station No. 1, 14601 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, <br />Ohio and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and <br />relating to the passage of this resolution Deere adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all <br />such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in <br />meetings open to the public in compliance with alI Iegal requirements. <br />Adopted: ((~,-6„ ~ L~F~- <br />Fresideut of Council <br />Approved: __ ~ Z ~~ <br />
