RESOLUTION NO. 8663 -13 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION congratulating Ward 4 business owner Maria Shinn on receiving the <br />Outstanding New Member award from the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. <br />WHEREAS, Maria Shinn started her own law firm; Maria L. Shimm, LLC in 2000 and <br />brought to Lakewood her commitment to legal excellence as well as dedicated civic <br />involvement, and <br />WHEREAS, volunteerism stemming from both her family and business, is an integral part <br />of Maria's life; among so many volunteer endeavors she served as President of Harrison School <br />PTA, is a volunteer attorney with the Visiting Nurse Association of Cleveland Hospice, and is a <br />member of numerous Boards, and <br />WHEREAS, Maria had the foresight to buy one of Birdtown's most recognizable <br />buildings, the old Laskey office on Madison Avenue, opening it for legal services and yoga, truly <br />a new spin on mixed use, and <br />WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that this Council and Mayor join the Lakewood <br />Chamber of Commerce in recognizing the personal and business investment Maria Shinn has <br />made to our community, especially for her investment in Ward 4; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1. That this Council and Mayor extend to Maria Shinn; Maria Shinn Law Firm, <br />congratulations on being named Lakewood Chamber of Commerce Outstanding New Member. <br />SECTION 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a copy of this Resolution to Maria Shinn and that a copy of this Resolution be spread <br />upon the minutes of the meeting. <br />SECTION 3.
