RESOLUTIONNO. 8674 -13 BY:Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers. <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately declaring support of Lakewood Senior <br />Citizens, Inc.'s and Cleveland Housing Network Inc.'s application to the Ohio Development <br />Services Agency for an allocation of Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits for the <br />rehabilitation of Westerly III Apartments senior housing at 14312 Detroit Avenue. <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Development Services Agency is accepting applications in the <br />current round of funding for the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit for the redevelopment <br />and renovation of historic buildings throughout Ohio using a competitive proposal process; and <br />WHEREAS, Lakewood Senior Citizens, Inc. has provided high quality housing to low <br />income seniors and related services in the City of Lakewood for more than 50 years; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has recognized the need to encourage and support the <br />preservation of the City's existing housing stock; and <br />WHEREAS, the rehabilitation of Westerly III Apartments at 14312 Detroit Avenue as <br />proposed by Lakewood Senior Citizens, Inc. and the Cleveland Housing Network Inc. will <br />improve 179 one - bedroom apartments for low income seniors and represents approximately $15 <br />million of capital investment in the eastern gateway of downtown Lakewood; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor support Lakewood Senior Citizens, Inc.'s and <br />Cleveland Housing Network, Inc.'s application to the Ohio Development Services Agency for an <br />allocation of Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits for the rehabilitation of Westerly III <br />Apartments senior housing. <br />Section 2. The rehabilitation of Westerly III Apartments is a high priority initiative for <br />future development in the eastern gateway of downtown Lakewood. <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: Se,b (�E -Zvi 3 <br />Approved: Z ()/--) <br />PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL <br />
