RESOLUTION NO. 8675 -13 <br />BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION in support of ballot Issue 84, a bond issue and <br />permanent improvement levy for the Lakewood City School District, to be voted <br />upon by the electorate on November 5, 2013. <br />WHEREAS, after months of community engagement and gathering <br />feedback from Lakewood residents, the Lakewood School Board placed a 3.25 <br />mill bond issue, plus a 0.5 mill permanent improvement levy on the ballot for <br />November 5, 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, successful passage of Issue 84 will result in replacing Grant, <br />Lincoln, and Roosevelt Elementary Schools and finish renovations at Lakewood <br />High School; and <br />WHEREAS, if Issue 84 passes, the State of Ohio will contribute $50 <br />million to construction costs, making this project more affordable for our <br />residents; and <br />WHEREAS, passage of Issue 84 will result in lower operating costs, better <br />instructional technology, and improved safety systems; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That Lakewood City Council officially supports the passage of <br />Issue 84 on November 5, 2013 and encourages voters in the City of Lakewood to <br />vote in favor of the issue. <br />Section 2.
