RESOLUTION NO. 8710 -14 <br />REFERRED TO TEH COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />1/6/14. <br />BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, <br />Madigan, Marx, Nowlin, O'Leary. <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote <br />of at least five members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earli- <br />est period allowed by law, appointing John Litten as a special trustee to <br />the Lakewood Hospital Association Governing Board, for the term beginning January 1, <br />2014 and ending December 31, 2018. <br />WHEREAS, Council is obligated to appoint a special trustee to the Lakewood Hospi- <br />tal Association Governing Board, in accordance with Section 9.20)(ii) of the lease agreement <br />between the City of Lakewood and the Lakewood Hospital Association; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five of its members determines that this <br />resolution is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect at the earliest date possible as <br />set forth in Article III, Sections 10 and 13 of the Second Amended Charter of the City of <br />Lakewood, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, <br />health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in <br />that the position to be occupied by this appointee is currently vacant; now, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. Council appoints John Li rren as a special trustee to the <br />Lakewood Hospital Association Governing Board, for the term beginning January 1, 2014 <br />and ending December 31, 2018. <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concern- <br />ing and relating to the passage of this resolution were passed in open meetings of this Council <br />and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such ac- <br />tions were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal requirements. <br />Section 3. This resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary <br />for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare in the <br />City and for the usual daily operation of the City for the reasons set forth and defined in the <br />preamble to this ordinance, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least five of <br />members of Council, this resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor, or otherwise it shall take ffect and be in <br />force after the earliest period allowed by law. <br />Adopted: f ruweti, 2y IT <br />I <br />Approved: to/ <br />�A � <br />MAYOR <br />
