RESOLUTION NO. 8737 -14 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Marx, Nowlin, O'Leary. <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />at least five members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest <br />period allowed by law, authorizing the Director of Public Works to file an application for <br />Coastal Management Assistance with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Office of <br />Coastal Management and to enter into any necessary agreements to accept funds awarded. <br />WHEREAS, the city of Lakewood desires financial assistance under the Coastal <br />Management Assistance Grant Program; and <br />WHEREAS, fiords, if awarded, would be used to develop a comprehensive plan for <br />coastal erosion and storm water management; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five of its members determines that this <br />resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall take effect at the earliest date <br />possible as set forth in Article III, Sections 10 and 13 of the Second Amended Charter of the City <br />of Lakewood, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, <br />health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal services, in that this <br />application must be filed by November 21, 2014 in order to receive consideration; now, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. The Council of the city of Lakewood approves filing an application for Coastal <br />Management Assistance Grants financial assistance. <br />Section 2. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute and file an <br />application with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and to provide all information and <br />documentation required to become eligible for possible funding assistance. <br />Section 3. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute and file any <br />agreements necessary to accept an award of financial assistance from the Ohio Department of <br />Natural Resources, Office of Coastal Management. <br />Section 4. The city of Lakewood agrees to obligate finds required to satisfactorily <br />complete the proposed project and become eligible for reimbursement under the terms and <br />conditions of the Coastal Management Assistance Grants Program. <br />Section S. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberation of the Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />
