RESOLUTION NO. 8829 -15 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, Marx, <br />woulin, O'Leary. <br />A Resolution celebrating Tamara Racin and her custom children's boutique, Paisley Monkey, for <br />receiving the 2015 Heritage Ohio Main Street Business of the Year award. <br />WHEREAS, Paisley Monkey started as an online business in 2005 and opened its first <br />Lakewood storefront in 2010, and; <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Racin and Paisley Monkey have actively invested in the vibrancy and <br />success of downtown Lakewood by serving in a leadership role with the Downtown Lakewood <br />Business Alliance, supporting local businesses and events, and partnering with LakewoodAlive, <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, customer demand has resulted in two major expansions of Paisley Monkey's <br />retail space since 2011, each of which has preserved and showcased the property's historic <br />features, and; <br />WHEREAS, Paisley Monkey's contributions to Lakewood and commitment to <br />preservation earned them recognition by Heritage Ohio, the statewide organization dedicated to <br />protecting, preserving, and revitalizing Ohio's I Ieritage, and; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is proud that Paisley Monkey has received statewide <br />recognition and looks forward to a continued partnership with this community- minded business <br />to further grow and strengthen Lakewood. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council hereby recognizes Paisley Monkey for earning statewide recognition <br />for its active community investment and commitment to property preservation. <br />Section 2.
