RESOLUTION NO. 8836 -15 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Marx, Nowlin, O'Leary. <br />A Resolution to honor Rebecca M. Patton for earning recognition as Ohio Nurse of the Year in <br />the category of nurse leadership by the Ohio Chapter of the March of Dimes. <br />WHEREAS, for 35 years Rebecca M. Patton has brought commitment, enthusiasm, and a <br />sense of personal and civic responsibility to the practice of nursing; and, <br />WHEREAS, over tine years Ms. Patton's career in nursing has broadened and expanded <br />so that in addition to caring for patients she has educated nursing students and advocated for the <br />profession of nursing; and, <br />WHEREAS, most notably, Ms. Patton represented the face of American nursing in her <br />eight years of service as President of the American Nurses Association where she advocated for <br />3.4 million registered nurses; and, <br />WHEREAS, in addition to her national responsibilities, Ms. Patton carved out time to <br />dedicate to the Lakewood community in her service as a member of the Lakewood Hospital <br />Association; and, <br />WHEREAS, as a result of Ms. Patton's impressive career, her application was selected <br />among hundreds from around the state to be recognized by the Ohio Chapter of the March of <br />Dimes as Ohio Nurse of the Year in the category of nurse leadership; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council hereby expresses pride that Lakewood's own Rebecca M. <br />Patton has received such national and state -wide recognition for her career and achievements. <br />Section 2. That this Council hereby honors Rebecca M.
