RESOLUTION NO. 8839 -15 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, Marx, Nowlin, O'Leary. A RESOLUTION to commend Shawn Juris for his public service as a member of Lakewood City Council. WHEREAS, Shawn Juris was appointed to the Ward 3 Council seat in January of 2011, and was elected in November of that same year to serve the 2012 to 2015 term, and WHEREAS, Mr. Juris, provided thoughtful, knowledgeable and responsible review of each issue set before him and strove to find the most pragmatic solution for the present and future, and WHEREAS, Mr. Juris worked with city planners in strategizing economic development throughout the City chairing early in his tenure the Committee on Economic Development readying the City for hotel and travel opportunities, and WHEREAS, his recognition of the connection between sound public infrastructure and robust economic growth made him well suited to chair the Public Works Committee, where his commitment and foresight shown from detailed traffic and pedestrian challenges to his grasp of colossal public projects, and WHEREAS, although he relied heavily on cold data, analysis and research in his approach to legislation Mr. Juris shared warm affection for others by making sure to acknowledge sports and scholastic achievements of Lakewood students, the dedication of City employees and the remarkable work done by boards and commissions; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and Mayor wish to commend Shawn Juris for his outstanding dedication and devoted service to the City of Lakewood as Councilmember, Ward 3 and wish him success, health and happiness in the years to come. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy this Resolution to Mr. Juris and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting.
