RESOLUTION NO. 8954 -17 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Litten, Marx, <br />Nowlin, O'Leary, O'Malley. <br />A RESOLUTION expressing deepest sympathy to the family of Thomas J. <br />George who died unexpectedly September 14, 2017. <br />WHEREAS, for the many who knew and loved him we can take some <br />solace in the fact that Thomas "Tom" George's life ended the way he lived it; in <br />full demonstration of his love for his family and community campaigning in the <br />neighborhood for his favorite candidate, and <br />WHEREAS, Tom was a man of firm commitment but gentle demeanor who <br />punctuated many of his sentences with a smile or a soft chuckle that spoke without <br />words of his deep empathy, and <br />WHEREAS, Tom's life work is memorialized in the legislation and <br />initiatives for which he advanced that always emphasized the role of working men <br />and women, stewardship of the environment, appreciation of the arts; i.e. the <br />principles of the Democratic Party; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />� 1• <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby extend to the family of <br />Thomas J. George deepest sympathy on this profound loss to them and to our <br />greater community. <br />. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to Jane, Meghan, and Tim George <br />and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br />Adopted: S e g2 � e � 1, er- ) $. 2.o �7 <br />Approved• .j <br />MAYOR <br />
