<br />A RESOLUTION to commend Cindy Marx for her public service as a member of Lakewood
<br />City Council.
<br />WHEREAS, Cindy Marx was elected to the At -Large seat for Lakewood City Council in
<br />November, 2013, serving from January, 2014 to December, 2017, and
<br />WHEREAS, Ms. Marx brought with her an abiding trust in the contributions women make
<br />to a community and advocated the appointment of highly qualified women to the City's Boards and
<br />Commissions, ensuring the experiences and perspectives of all were amplified and made part of the
<br />governing dialogue, and
<br />WHEREAS, during her tenure as Councilmember At- Large, Cindy Marx chaired the City's
<br />Health and Human Services Committee guiding rules regarding body art/tattoo businesses in the
<br />City, worked with colleagues on best practices landlords and residents could follow in pest control,
<br />and earned the esteem of backyard hen enthusiasts by expanding conditional use perimeters, and
<br />WHEREAS, Cindy Marx played an integral role in Lakewood's downtown development by
<br />prioritizing transportation needs in health care endeavors and insisting on status reports as a project
<br />proceeded, and
<br />WHEREAS, the core beliefs of Cindy Marx is best reflected in Lakewood's Human Rights
<br />Ordinance she co- sponsored to "protect and safeguard the right and opportunity of all persons to be
<br />free from all forms of discrimination, including discrimination based on age, race, color, creed,
<br />religion, national origin, ancestry, disability, marital status, gender, gender identity or expression,
<br />sexual orientation, or physical characteristic..." now, therefore,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD STATE OF OHIO:
<br />Section 1. That we fully expect Cindy to continue her loyal, exuberant, ebullient,
<br />effervescent attendance at galas, events, parties, parades, fundraisers, meetings, forums, graduations,
<br />coffees /tea of which few she misses and for or critical involvement in our thriving community.
<br />Section 2. That we further wish Cindy Marx and her husband Jake Marx health, happiness
<br />and prosperity.
<br />Section 3. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to transmit this
<br />resolution to Cindy Marx and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this
<br />meeting.
