Anderson, Bullock, George, Litten, O'Leary, <br />Rader <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9070 -19 BY: <br />A RESOLUTION to recognize and thank Kara Vlach - Lasher for the quality of her <br />service and impactful leadership on the Lakewood Animal Safety & Welfare Advisory Board <br />since her appointment in 2014. <br />WHEREAS, the Lakewood Animal Safety & Welfare Advisory Board was established in <br />2008 to serve in an advisory capacity for the purpose of general animal issues, assist in public <br />education and community outreach to owners, and addressing animal safety and abuse problems, <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Vlach - Lasher was appointed by Council to serve on the Lakewood <br />Animal Safety & Welfare Advisory Board on March 17, 2014, having been previously involved <br />with the Animal Protective League, Petfix, and the Senior Dog Sanctuary, <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Vlach - Lasher played significant roles on the Lakewood Spay & Neuter <br />Committee and the Dog Bite Prevention Committee, providing substantive policy <br />recommendations as the City overhauled its various dog related ordinances in 2018, <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Vlach - Lasher helped spur the creation of a low -cost spay and neuter <br />program for low - income residents and worked with the Administration to educate the public <br />regarding ways to co -exist with coyotes, and, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Administration does hereby thank Ms. Kara Vlach - <br />Lasher for the extraordinary quality of her service and leadership to the Lakewood Animal <br />Safety & Welfare Advisory Board. <br />Section 2. That this Council and Administration does hereby express its well - wishes to <br />Ms. Vlach- Lasher as she moves on from official volunteer service with the City. <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: bL; <br />Approved: <br />MIA i vf\� <br />
