Anderson, Bullock, George, Litten, O'Leary, RESOLUTION NO. 2019-16 BY: O'Malley, Rader A RESOLUTION to commend David W. Anderson for his exemplary public service as a member of Lakewood City Council. WHEREAS, on February 28, 2011 David Anderson was unanimously appointed by his colleagues to fill the unexpired term of the ward 1 Council position. Mr. Anderson subsequently campaigned for the position twice and was elected twice, with his current term set to expire December 31, 2019; and, WHEREAS, four of Mr. Anderson's nearly nine years on Council were spent serving as Vice President, a position to which he was elected by a majority of his colleagues; and, WHEREAS, during his time on Council, Mr. Anderson served enthusiastically on almost every committee and established himself as an expert on housing matters, as Chair of that committee without interruption since 2012; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson has embodied the spirit of public service as a member of Lakewood City Council, fostering cooperation among colleagues, recognizing the hard work and achievements of others, and setting a strong example as a thoughtful and compassionate community leader; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. That this Council does hereby commend David W. Anderson for nearly nine years of dedicated public service as a member of Lakewood City Council. Section 2. That this Council does hereby wish David and his wife Andrea along with their four children Brianna, Reese, Luke & Benjamin, all the best in their future endeavors in Lakewood and beyond. Section 3. That this Council does hereby wish David a seamless transition from elected official to engaged and active citizen of Lakewood, where we hope he will carry out his new role by returning to Council Chambers whenever moved to share his thoughtful, well -researched, and compassionate perspective on civic life.
