MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC WORKS & SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE <br /> April 27, 2020 <br /> Online Broadcast Meeting <br /> Present: Councilmembers Rader, Bullock, & Shachner <br /> Also Present: Councilmember Neff, Director Ducu, City Engineer Papke, Chief Dunphy, a <br /> couple members of the public, Clerk Bach, & Deputy Clerk Lascu taking minutes <br /> Start time: 6:30 p.m. <br /> AGENDA <br /> Approval of the minutes of the March 2, 2020 Public Works &Sustainability <br /> Committee. <br /> Chairman Rader made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Bullock to approve the <br /> minutes from the March 2nd meeting of the committee. <br /> A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas - Bullock, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays - None <br /> The motion passed. The minutes were approved. <br /> Resolution 2020-22 -A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives <br /> the affirmative vote of at least five members of Council, or otherwise to take effect <br /> and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, appropriating$1,100,214.00 <br /> and authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement which will allow the City of <br /> Lakewood to participate in the improvement of Detroit Avenue (US-6) and its <br /> intersection with Sloane Ave/Valley Parkway to Graber Drive in the City of <br /> Lakewood with the Ohio Department of Transportation. (Referred to PWS 3/16/20). <br /> (pg. 2) <br /> Chairman Rader inquired about the timeline of the project, as the city initially planned on <br /> the it going through the year 2 02 1,with the bulk of funds spent in that budget cycle. <br /> Engineer Papke indicated that the project is currently in the design phase and is being <br /> funded half with CDBG dollars and the other half coming from the city's streets fund. The <br /> design works involves public input. The project will go to bid next year,with construction <br /> finishing in 2021. The funding on the agenda today involves the city asking to Council to <br /> allow it to come into agreement with ODOT for$1.4 million in construction and <br /> construction administration funds.Water main and sewer work will be needed along this <br /> corridor. Sewer upgrades should cost about$1 million. <br />
