RESOLUTION NO.2021-1 BY: Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, <br />O'Malley, Rader, Shachner <br />A RESOLUTION to recognize Lion and Blue on its 25th anniversary as a flagship retailer <br />on Lakewood's Detroit Ave. <br />WHEREAS, after falling in love with the look, feel, and vibrancy of Lakewood, Tina and <br />Michael Dolatowski opened Lion and Blue at its current location on February 6, 1996; and, <br />WHEREAS, through its unique goods and welcoming store environment, Lion and Blue <br />established a devoted following of loyal customers in Lakewood and throughout the region; and, <br />WHEREAS, Lion and Blue has always prided itself on being socially responsible, <br />investing time and resources into Lakewood and using its influence to support Fair Trade and <br />environmental justice; and, <br />WHEREAS, despite changes in the times, changes in fashion, and changes in the <br />economy, the endurance of Lion and Blue has demonstrated that quality products and excellent <br />customer service never go out of style. Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council does hereby recognize Lion and Blue on its 25th anniversary <br />as a flagship retailer in Lakewood's downtown business district and a regional destination for <br />quality hand -made, locally crafted and fair-trade goods. <br />Section 2. That this Council does hereby recognize Tina and Michael Dolatowski for <br />their hard work and entrepreneurial spirit which has significantly added to the vibrancy and <br />character of downtown Lakewood. <br />Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to present a <br />certified copy of this resolution to Tina and Michael Dolatowski. <br />Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: <br />DXNiEL J.
