MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC WORKS & SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE <br /> May 3, 2021 <br /> Virtual Meeting <br /> Present: Rader(Chair), Bullock, Shachner <br /> Also Present: Planning Director Leininger, Public Works Director Ducu, Councilmembers <br /> Litten, Neff& Kepple, Chief of Staff John Storey, Law Director Corrigan, Leslie Quilty of <br /> HELP Foundation <br /> Call to Order: 7:00 p.m. <br /> Approval of the minutes of the April 5, 2021 Public Works & Sustainability Committee <br /> meeting. <br /> A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the April 5, 2021 Public Works & <br /> Sustainability Committee meeting. A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas: Rader, Bullock, Shachner <br /> Nays: none <br /> Motion adopted. Minutes approved. <br /> RESOLUTION 2021-18 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise <br /> to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Mayor <br /> or his designee to enter into Healthy Urban Tree Canopy Grant Program Project Agreement <br /> with Cuyahoga County to accept an award of $50,000 and requiring Lakewood's <br /> previously budgeted $75,230 as a match. (Referred to PWS 04119121) <br /> Director Ducu explained that Resolution 2021-18 authorizes acceptance of a $50,000 grant to <br /> reimburse the City for its tree plantings this year. One hundred fifty trees were planted in the <br /> spring and 250 will be planted in the fall. The total tree-planting budget for 2021 is $120,000. <br /> The same grant was received last year. <br /> A motion was made and seconded to recommend adoption of Resolution 2021-18 to Council. A <br /> roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas: Rader, Bullock, Shachner <br /> Nays: none <br /> Motion adopted. Resolution 2021-18 recommended for adoption. <br /> 1 <br />
