Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff-,, <br />O'Malley, Rader, Sha.chrzer. <br />RESOLUTION NO.2021-32 BY: <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at <br />least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the <br />earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Mayor and Director of Planning and Development <br />to enter into an agreement with Lakewood Community Services Center for the provision of <br />Emergency Rent Assistance with funds allocated from the American Rescue Plan Act in the <br />amount of $1,680,006. <br />WHEREAS, Lakewood is in receipt of approximately $23,609,787 of American Rescue <br />Plan Act funds, and; <br />WHEREAS, Lakewood annually contracts with Lakewood Community Services Center to <br />provide Homelessness Prevention Services annually utilizing the City's Emergency Solutions <br />Grant funding, and; <br />WHEREAS, due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, Lakewood would like to continue assisting <br />low- and extremely -low income Lakewood families at imminent risk of eviction and homelessness <br />by providing funding in the amount of $1,680,006 for an Emergency Rent Assistance Program <br />administered by Lakewood Community Services Center, and; <br />WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 2.12 of the Third Amended Charter of the city of <br />Lakewood, this Council by a vote of at least two thirds of its members determines that this <br />resolution is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect immediately, and that it is necessary <br />for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety, and to provide for <br />the usual daily operation of municipal departments in order to receive and make these funds <br />available as soon as possible; now, therefore. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO : <br />Section 1. That the Mayor or Director of Planning and Development is authorized to enter <br />into an agreement with Lakewood Community Services Center in the amount of $1,680,006 to <br />administer an Emergency Rent Assistance Program in accordance with the Funding Proposal <br />attached as Exhibit "A" and subject to any further guidance issued as to the use of the American <br />Rescue Plan Act funds. <br />
