F31., hock, Keppl , L-.tten, Neff; Of Malley, Rader, Shachner RESOLUTION NO. 2021-49 BY: A RESOLUTION to recognize and celebrate the many contributions of Grace Presbyterian Church on the centennial anniversary of its founding. WHEREAS, in 1920 Grace Presbyterian Church opened its doors in the City of Lakewood, ready to fulfill its dual mission of worship and service to the community; and, WHEREAS, over the past 100 years, through its steady presence and welcoming re g g con ation, Grace Presbyterian Church has built and maintained a dedicated group of congregants and friends committed to this mission; and, WHEREAS, over the years, Grace Presbyterian Church has responded to needs in the community in various ways. In 1982, Grace Presbyterian and 11 other Lakewood churches joinedg together to establish Lakewood Christian Service Center, now known as Lakewood Community Services Center. For a time, the Church also served as the hub for Meals on Wheels; and, WHEREAS, Grace Presbyterian Church believes that its calling at this time is to serve as a gathering lace for the community and opens its doors to many community programs such as g gp childcare and mental health and addiction services; and, WHEREAS, despite changing times, the endurance of Grace Presbyterian Church in p Lakewood speaks to the strength of this congregation's collective spirituality and leadership; Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and Mayor hereby recognize Grace Presbyterian Church on the 100th anniversary of its founding and for the important community services that it has provided over the last century and continues to provide today. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to present a certified copy of this resolution to the congregation of Grace Presbyterian Church. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements.
