Bullock, Kepple, Litten, O'Malley <br />Rader, Shachner <br />RESOLUTION NO.2022-01 BY: O'MALLEY <br />A RESOLUTION to recognize Mr. Luke Fischer for the talented writing, civic pride, and <br />heartfelt sentiments he demonstrated in his award -winning essay "4`1' Generation Lakewoodite." <br />WI -AREAS, the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce sponsored its annual essay contest <br />open to all fourth graders in the City resulting in 243 submissions, and; <br />WHEREAS, a panel of judges assessed all submissions based on originality, <br />organization, descriptive language, and grammar, and; <br />WHEREAS, Luke's essay beautifully expressed the Fischer family's four generations of <br />civic engagement and young Luke's feelings of connectedness to that proud legacy; and; <br />WHEREAS, the panel of judges selected Luke Fischer's essay as the best overall <br />submission, awarding him a cash prize and the opportunity to ride in the Light Up Lakewood <br />parade on December 4, 2021. Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council does hereby recognize Mr. Luke Fischer for his sincere and <br />well -written expressions of civic pride which resulted in his winning the 2021 Lakewood <br />Chamber of Commerce's "Why I Love Lakewood" Essay Contest. <br />Section 2. That this Council does hereby recognize Kevin & Mary Fischer, the proud <br />parents of Luke Fischer, for their instrumental role instilling a love of reading, writing, and all <br />things Lakewood into their son. <br />Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to present a <br />certified copy of this resolution to Luke Fischer and his family. <br />Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: till � x <br />I I <br />Approved: <br />Daniel J7ZL<&0'NUe'y.
