Baker, Bullock, Kepple, Marx, Rader <br />RESOLUTION 2022-46 <br />A RESOLUTION to commend Roman Ducu for over 30 years of dedicated service to the people <br />of Lakewood through his leadership in the Department of Public Works. <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Ducu began his career with the City of Lakewood in 1991 as a part-time <br />worker in the refuse division whereby through his customer service mindset and entrepreneurial <br />attitude was promoted to progressively complex and responsible roles within the Department of <br />Public Works; and <br />WHEREAS, in his role as Streets Project Manager, Mr. Ducu distinguished himself by <br />planning and executing the city's first successful 10-year sidewalk replacement program, the <br />results of which can be experienced and appreciated daily by the residents and visitors who <br />traverse the city's 180 miles of sidewalks; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2020, Mr. Ducu was appointed Director of Public Works where his <br />reliable public service and effective management have ensured that regardless of budget <br />constraints, supply chain delays, or even an historic global pandemic, that refuse is collected, <br />drinking water is safe and critical infrastructure is maintained for future generations; and <br />WHEREAS, after his 30-year career with the City of Lakewood, Mr. Ducu will now <br />transition from his role as a public official to an engaged and active citizen who will likely be <br />found working on cars and flying his licensed drone; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Administration does hereby thank Roman Ducu for the <br />length and quality of his service and leadership to Lakewood's Department of Public Works <br />since 1991. <br />Section 2. That this Council and Administration does hereby wish Roman all the best in <br />future endeavors in Lakewood and beyond. <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: <br />Sarah K le, Acting r ent of Council <br />fn <br />Maureen M.
