Baker, Bullock, Kepple, Marx, Rader <br />RESOLUTION 2022-60 BY: <br />A RESOLUTION to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary musical career and talents of Dr. <br />H. Leslie Adams, Minister of Music at Grace Presbyterian Church, on the occasion of his 90°i <br />birthday. <br />WHEREAS, a Northeast Ohio native son, Dr. H. Leslie Adams was born December 30, <br />1932 in Cleveland, Ohio and received his first musical education as a student within the <br />Cleveland Public Schools, and later, the renowned Oberlin College Conservatory of Music; and, <br />WHEREAS, after spending many years outside of Ohio to pursue advanced musical <br />studies, hone his craft, and educate the next generation of musicians, Dr. H. Leslie Adams <br />returned to Northeast Ohio for the opportunity to focus full-time on musical composition; and, <br />WHEREAS, the work of Dr. H. Leslie Adams has been celebrated with countless awards <br />and performed by top ensembles and artists to regional, national and international acclaim; and, <br />WHEREAS, notwithstanding Dr. Adam's rigorous and important work as a composer <br />and performer, Dr. Adams has served as Minister of Music at Grace Presbyterian Church, a <br />position which he has held for 27 years, much to the pride and joy of its congregants; Now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor hereby recognize Dr. H. Leslie Adams, Minister <br />of Music at Grace Presbyterian Church, on the occasion of his 90" birthday. <br />Section 2. That this Council join with Grace Presbyterian Church to invite the public to <br />attend a musical celebration of Dr. Adam's work at the Church Sanctuary on Saturday, <br />December 10`n at 5:00 p.m. <br />Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to present a <br />certified copy of this resolution to the congregation of Grace Presbyterian Church and Dr. H. <br />Leslie Adams. <br />Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: P-1SI�*D- <br />J n i en, President of Council <br />Maureen M.
