MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> OF <br /> LAKEWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br /> AUDITORIUM <br /> January 3, 2023 <br /> 7:30 P.M. <br /> Regular Meeting of the Lakewood City Council called to order at 7:35 PM by President Litten <br /> Present: Kyle Baker, Thomas R. Bullock III, Sarah Kepple, John Litten, Jason Shachner <br /> Also Present: Finance Director Rancatore, Police Chief Kaucheck, Acting Public Works Director <br /> Gordon, Engineer Papke, Planning Director Shawn Leininger, Law Director Ernie Vargo, Human <br /> Services Director Chad Berry, Chief of Staff John Storey, Clerk Bach and Council staff <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to excuse the absences of <br /> Councilmembers Marx and Rader. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to receive and file the minutes of <br /> the December 19, 2022 General Meeting without the necessity of a reading. All in favor. Motion <br /> passed. <br /> ****OLD BUSINESS*** <br /> 1. RESOLUTION 2022-62 - A RESOLUTION to designate the month of January 2023 as <br /> Poverty Awareness Month in the City of Lakewood. (deferred 12119122) (pg. 1) <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to adopt Resolution 2022-62. <br /> Discussion: Vice President Kepple and Trish Rooney ofLakewood Community Services Center <br /> shared statistics regarding poverty in Lakewood and spoke of the need for policy to combat and <br /> eliminate poverty. <br /> On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2022-62 was adopted. <br /> 2. Communication from President Litten regarding updated Tree Board appointment <br /> resolution. (pg. 2) <br />
