MINUTES <br /> OF A MEETING OF <br /> LAKEWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br /> AUDITORIUM <br /> MARCH 6, 2023 <br /> 7:30 P.M. <br /> Regular Meeting of the Lakewood City Council called to order at 7:37 PM by President <br /> Litten. <br /> Present: Kyle Baker, Thomas R. Bullock III, Sarah Kepple, Cindy Marx, Tristan Rader <br /> Also Present: Finance Director Rancatore, Police Chief Kaucheck, Public Works Director <br /> Gordon, Human Resources Director Dillinger, Assistant Director of Planning David Baas, <br /> Planning Director Shawn Leininger, Law Director Ernie Vargo, Chief of Staff John Storey, Clerk <br /> Bach and Council staff <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to receive and file the minutes of <br /> the February 21, 2023 General Meeting without the necessity of a reading. All in favor. Motion <br /> passed. <br /> Without objection, President Litten moved agenda items 18 and 19 to the top of discussion. <br /> ****OLD BUSINESS*** <br /> 1. Report from Committee of the Whole held March 6, 2023. (to be provided) <br /> President Litten delivered the following oral report: <br /> The Committee of the Whole met this evening at 6:00 p.m. to discuss primarily, in addition to <br /> approving our minutes, the ARPA funds that Council has to allocate roughly two million dollars <br /> within this year and another million next year. We did come to some conclusions on several <br /> items, specifically $175,000 proposed by Councilman Shachner for Hawk Crosswalk. We also <br /> discussed$25,000 respectively proposed by Councilman Bullock related to equipment and <br /> storage at Madison Park as well as holiday lighting for our City. As well, $25,000 towards our <br /> animal shelter supported by Councilmember Rader and Councilwoman Marx. $10,000 for spay <br /> and neuter clinics supported by Councilmembers Bullock, Marx, and Rader. Also, small business <br /> support through Lakewood Alive of$50,000 by Councilmembers Shachner, Baker, Litten, and <br /> Bullock. That is the totality of the allocations that were discussed. <br /> We did discuss some of the larger ticket items through a more lengthy Council Retreat that we <br /> would have through a Committee of the Whole meeting in the coming month or so as well as <br /> some other logistics and how we intend to spend the funds. I found it to be a pretty collegial <br /> atmosphere where we work toward some common goals. I think everybody was able to work with <br />
