Baker, Bullock, Kepple, Litten, <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023-33 BY: Marx, Rader, Shachner <br />A RESOLUTION to recognize and thank Chief Kevin Kaucheck for the extraordinary <br />length and quality of his service and leadership to the Lakewood Police Department. <br />WHEREAS, Chief Kaucheck began his career with the Lakewood Police Department in <br />1989 as a patrol officer, where through hard work and determination he was thereafter promoted <br />through the ranks of sergeant, lieutenant, and captain; and, <br />WHEREAS, in 2020 Mr. Kaucheck was promoted to Chief of Police amid an <br />unprecedented global pandemic which required him to address unique public safety challenges <br />while at the same time to creatively navigate historic turnover within the police department; and, <br />WHEREAS, during his time as Chief, Chief Kaucheck prioritized the modernization of <br />department equipment, facilities, and policies to keep Lakewood Police Department on the <br />leading edge of police practices in the region; and, <br />WHEREAS, Chief Kaucheck has promoted the values of public service and community <br />policing by growing and maintaining trust and partnership between Lakewood residents and <br />police; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Administration does hereby thank Chief Kevin <br />Kaucheck for the extraordinary length and quality of his service and leadership to the Lakewood <br />Police Department since 1989. <br />Section 2. That this Council and Administration does hereby wish Chief Kaucheck an <br />enjoyable retirement with his family and friends, free from the weight of his many <br />responsibilities as Chief. <br />Section 3.
