xEsozuTZOrr No. 487 <br />By Mrs. Brown <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOZUTION MEMORA-LIZING THE CONGRESS OF <br />' THE UNITED STATES_TO_TNVESTIGATE THE FIXING OF <br />GASOZINE PRICES IN.THE GREATER CLEVELAND.AREA.AND <br />TO ENACT APPROPRIATE.ZEGISLATTON.TH&REON <br />WHEREAS, the supply of gasoline in the greater Cleveland area is in <br />excess oE„the demand for such gasoline; and <br />.WHEREAS, the price*per gallon of such gasoline is decided by the <br />suppliers.of such gasoline; arid <br />i WHEREAS, said suppliers follow the martcet leader in pricing gasoline; <br />and <br />WHEREA,S, the prices set for gasoline in the Greater Cleveland area are <br />higher than prices in nearby areas; and <br />WHEREASe this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the usual,daily operation of a municipal department. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOI,VED BY THF COUNCIL OF THE VII,LAGE OF 14AYFIELD, CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: <br />$'ec. 1. That the Congress of the United States be, and the same is, heraby <br />memoralized to inyestigate the pricing of gasoline in the Greater Cleveland area <br />and to enact appropriate legislation providing f or the regulation of such pricing <br />of gasoline in order to prevent excessive gasoline prices being charged as a <br />result of price fixingo <br />Sec. 2.
