ORDINANCE N0. 84-1 <br />. - <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE CONFIRMING THE <br />APPOINTMENT OF A LAW DIRECTOR; <br />ESTABLISHING TERMS, CONDITIONS AND <br />COMPENSATION FOR SUCH SERVICES; AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section li The Mayor's appointment of Dale C. Feneli, as <br />Law Director for Mayfield Village is hereby confirmed subject to the <br />terms, conditions and compensation hereinafter established. <br />Section ~ The appointment confirmed herein shall be <br />effective until December 31, 1984'or until the appointment of a <br />successor Law Director, whichever is later, except that either the <br />municipality or the Law Director may terminate the employment of the <br />Law Director upon providing thirty (30) days written notice to the <br />other of intention to so terminate. <br />Section 3 As Law Director of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />Dale C. Feneli shall be responsible for the administration of all <br />civil, municipal legal matters and shall perform all duties specified <br />by the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, with regard to the Director <br />of Law and by the statutes of the State of Ohio with regard to the <br />duties of City Solicitors. The Director of Law shall not be <br />responsible, however, for the conduct nor compensation of the <br />Municipal Prosecutor, who shall be separately appointed, directed and <br />compensated. <br />Section 4. The Law Director shall personally conduct or <br />directly supervise all activities for which he is responsible. In any <br />event, attendance at meetings of Council shall be the sole and <br />exclusive responsibility of the Law Director except as hereinafter <br />stated and all adversary litigation shall be conducted personally by <br />the Law Director except where otherwise provided. In the event of <br />absence from meetings of Council by reason of illness, personal <br />emergency, vacation or unavoidable absence from Cuyahoga County on <br />other non-municipal business, or in the event of being unable to <br />conduct litigation by reason of illness or personal emergency, Dale C. <br />Feneli shall cause all services necessary to the municipality to be~ <br />rendered by a qualified attorney licensed to practice law in the State <br />of Ohio and having muncipal legal experience, all at Dale C. Feneli's <br />sole expense. <br />Section 5. The charges to the municipality for services <br />to be rendered by the Law Director shall be as follows: <br />
