ORDINANCE NO. 84-4 <br />Page -9- <br />misfeasance, or nonfeasance in office, incapacity or <br />incompetency, provided, however, that such removal from <br />office shall become final only after being confirmed by <br />the affirmative vote of fett~ A MAJORITY OF THE' members <br />of Council. <br />The ballot question for this proposed amendment to the Charter <br />shall read: <br />(K) Shall the Charter of Mayfield Village be amended to <br />provide that the Mayor's appointments to the Board <br />of Appeals are subject to confirmation by a vote of <br />a majority of the members of Council and that the <br />removal of any member of the Board of Appeals by the <br />Mayor is also subject to confirmation by a vote of <br />a majority of the members of Council? <br />L. Shall the first paragraph of Article X of the Charter of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, be amended to read as follows: <br />The Council may, by vote of at least fte~e f5~ <br />Two-THIRDS of its members, submit to the electors <br />of the Municipality of Mayfield Village amendments <br />to this Charter, or upon a petition, in the form as <br />provided in Section 3 of Article VII, signed by ten <br />percent (10~) of the registered electors of this Munici- <br />pality setting forth any proposed amendment, such proposed <br />amendment shall be so submitted to the electors by the <br />Council. <br />The ballot-question for this proposed amendment to the Charter <br />shall read: <br />(L) Shall the Charter of Mayfield Village be amended <br />to provide that a vote of at least two-thirds of the <br />members of Council is necessary in order to submit <br />to the electors of Mayfield Village proposed amendments <br />to its Charter? <br />Section 2. The Clerk of Council. is hereby authorized and <br />directed to certify a copy of this ordinance to the Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Elections immediately upon its passage for inclusion on the <br />ballot at the regularly scheduled primary election to be held in the <br />municipality on the 8th day of May, 1984, and to take such other steps <br />as are required pursuant to Ohio law to cause such election to be <br />validly held. <br />
