ORDINANCE N0. 84- 15 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASE OF A POLICE CRUISER FROM <br />DEACON'S CHRYSLER-PLYMOUTH IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF TEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED <br />NINETY SIX DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS <br />($10,996.50), DECLARING SUCH PUR- <br />CH ASE TO BE AN EMERGENCY AND <br />DECLARING THIS ORDINANCE TO BE AN <br />EMERGENCY MEASURE. <br />WHEREAS, on February 13, 198`4--a police cruiser owned by the <br />municipality was damaged in a collision; and <br />WHEREAS, an estimate of repairs to said vehicle resulted in <br />an amount that, based on the age and condition of the vehicle, <br />rendered it economically unfeasible to repair said vehicle; and <br />WHEREAS, the of oresaid vehicle had already been designated <br />for replacement during calendar year 1984; and <br />WHEREAS, the municipality learned, through its Director of <br />Finance, that a representative of Deacon's Chrysler-Plymouth had an <br />opportunity to purchase, for the municipality, a police cruiser that <br />was available on an immediate basis; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the municipality <br />determined that in order to maintain the effective daily operation of <br />the Police Department of the municipality it was necessary to <br />immediately purchase such automobile without advertising for competi- <br />tive bids; and <br />WHEREAS, the aforementioned automobile has been purchased <br />from Deacon's Chrysler-Plymouth and is now in service with the Police <br />Department of the municipality; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, does hereby <br />express its intent to ratify the purchase of the aforementioned auto- <br />mobile for the reasons set forth hereinabove; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, does <br />hereby declare that the purchase of the police cruiser from Deacon's <br />Chrysler-Plymouth, as set forth hereinabove, was an emergency purchase <br />necessary to maintain the effective daily operations of the Police <br />Department of Mayfield Village. <br />
