M.V. ORDINANCE N0. 84- 36 <br />Page -2- <br />for taxation according to value for the purpose of <br />conducting general municipal operations. The amount <br />of taxes in each year so levied pursuant to this <br />Section shall be in addition to any taxes levied <br />by Council pursuant to any other provision of this <br />Charter or the general laws of the State of Ohio <br />and no other provision of this Charter, or general <br />laws of the State of Ohio, shall impair or limit <br />this power. <br />•The ballot question for the above proposed Charter Amendment <br />shall be worded as follows: <br />Shall Article IX, Section 2, of the Charter of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, be amended so as to authorize <br />the Council to levy in each year, beginning with <br />1984, a tax not to exceed in each such year three (3) <br />mills per dollar of assessed valuation in order to <br />conduct general municipal operations? <br />YES <br />NO <br />Section 2. The question as to the proposed amendment of <br />the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, as set forth in Section 1 <br />hereinabove, shall be submitted to a vote of the qualified electors of <br />the municipality at the regularly scheduled general election to be <br />held on November 6, 1984. <br />Section 3. If the amendment as set forth hereinabove is <br />approved by a majority of the electors voting thereon at such <br />election, it shall become immediately effective from and of ter the <br />time of its approval by the electors. <br />Section 4. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and <br />directed to certify a copy of this Ordinance to the Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Elections for placement on the ballot for the regularly <br />scheduled general election on November 6, 1984 and to take whatever <br />other steps are necessary in order to comply with all directives of <br />the said Board of Elections in order to secure placement on the ballot <br />as of oresaid. <br />Section 5. At least thirty (30) days before the date of <br />the election as set forth in this Ordinance, the Clerk of Council is <br />hereby directed to mail a copy of the full text of the proposed <br />Charter Amendment to each elector of the municipality whose name <br />appears upon the registration books for the last. regular election held <br />in the City. <br />
