RESOLUTION N0. $2- 45 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Counci.l President Michael W. Spellman <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF THE STJM <br />OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) FROM THE <br />CONTINGENCY ACCOUNT IN THE GENERAL FUND TO THE <br />COMMISSION ON AGING; ESTABLISHING THE COMMISSION <br />ON AGING AS A PERMANENT ACCOUNT WITHIN THE GENERAL <br />FUND AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Council has, by Ordinance, created a Commission <br />on Aging within the municipality; and <br />WHEREAS, the financial consultant for the municipality has <br />informed Council that.there exists within the contingency account <br />in the General Fund the sum of Five Hundrect Dollars ($500.00) that <br />is available fo.r transfer to provide initial funding for the <br />Commission on Aging; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Mayor and Council to transfer <br />the aforestated amount from the contingericy account to the Commission <br />on Aging as its initial funding; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the further desire of the Mayor and Council to <br />establish a permanent account with'in the Gerieral Fund for the <br />Commission on Aging; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF NTAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Pursuant to the terms of Section 5705.14 of the <br />Ohio Revise Code, the Council does hereby authorize'the transfer <br />of the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) from the contingency <br />account within the Gerieral Fund to the newly established Commission <br />on Aging. <br />Section 2. Council further directs that a new account be <br />formed withln?t e General Fund for the Commission on Aging which <br />account shall be provided funds tiy Council from time-to-time in <br />accordance with all applicable provisions of law. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of th'is Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its coinmittees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings operi to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements, including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4. This Resolution is liereby declared to be an <br />emergency measur:e immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residerits of Mayfield Village for <br />the reason that the newly established Commission on Aging cannot <br />commence functioning unti:l sucYi time as it receives ini.tial funding.
