RESOLUTION N0. 82-60 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor & Council as a wh.ole <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF <br />THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) <br />FROM THE CONTINGENCY ACCOUNT IN THE GENERAL <br />FUND TO THE NEWLY CREATED "TIPSTER ACCOUNT" <br />IN THE GENERAL FUND; ESTABLISHING THE "TIPSTER <br />ACCOUNT" AS A PERMANENT ACCOUNT WITHIIV THE <br />GENERAL FUND AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police, have determined <br />that it is necessary to create a"Tipster Account" within the <br />General Fund to provide for rewards to persons providing tips <br />leading to the arrest and conviction of persons who have committed <br />crimes within the municipality; and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Director for the municipality has <br />informed the Mayor and Council that there exists within the contingency <br />account in the General Fund the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) <br />that is availabTe for transfer to provide initial funding for the <br />"Tipster Account"; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Mayor and Council of Mayfield <br />Village to transfer the aforestated amount from the contingency <br />account to the Tipster Account as its initial funding; and <br />WHERE,AS, it is the further desire of the Mayor and Council to <br />establish a permanerit account to provide rewards for persons giving <br />information leading to the arrest and conviction of criminals; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MA.YFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section l. Pursuant to the terms of Section 5705.14 of the <br />Ohio Revised Co e, the Council has hereby authorized the transfer <br />of the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) from the contingency <br />account within the General Fund to the newly established "Tipster <br />Account" also located in the General Fund. <br />Section 2. Council further directs that a new account be <br />formed within the General Fund to provide for rewards for persons <br />giving information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons <br />perpetrating crimes within Mayfield Village, with the guidelines for <br />such reward paymerits to be set forth in an Ordinance to be eriacted <br />by Council. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting
