RESOLUTION N0. 82-92 <br />Page -2- <br />WHEREAS, due to numerous reasons,- many municipalities are already <br />having fiscal problems and the implementation of these provisions <br />will adversely affect those fiscal problems; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section l. The Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio., hereby urges <br />the Congress of the United States to delay, for a rninimum period of <br />two (2) years, the implementation of the Tax Equity and Fiscal <br />Respons'ibility Act of 1982 as it pertains to the requirement that <br />effective January 1, 1983, all new municipal bonds must be issued <br />in..registered form to preserve their tax exempt status. <br />Section 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby directed to forward <br />a duplicate original copy of this Resolution to President Ronald W. <br />Reagan, Senators Howard Metzenbaum and John Glenn, to all United <br />States Representatives representing Cuyahoga County and to the United <br />States Department of the Treasury. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all formal <br />actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations <br />of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal <br />action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance <br />with all statutory requirements, including the requirements of <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4.
