RESOLUTION NO. <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO ENACT <br />H.B. 45, ESTABLISHING A "BILL OF RIGHTS" FOR POLICE <br />OFFICERS. <br />WHEREAS, there has been. introduced in the General Assembly H.B. <br />45, establishing "Bill of Rights" for police officers which will govern <br />the procedure for law enforcement agencies investigating the conduct <br />of their police officers; and <br />WHEREAS, heretofore such investigations have not been governed <br />by any rules or regulations established in statutory law; and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of all the residents of <br />Mayfield Village, as well as the State of Ohio, that police officers <br />be afforded a standard under which complaints against them shall be <br />conducted; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />urge the General Assembly of the State of Ohio to enact H.B. 45. <br />Section 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized, empowered <br />and directed to forward copies of this Resolution to Governor James <br />A. Rhodes and to all Cuyahoga County State Legislators. <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect at the earliest <br />time allowed by law. <br />Alan G.
