RESOLUTION NO. 81-27 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO ALAN G. BENNETT. <br />n <br />U <br />WHEREAS, ALAN G. BENNETT and his ancestors have been residents <br />of Mayfield Village since the mid 19th century; and <br />WHEREAS, ALAN G. BENNETT has long and dutifully served the. <br />people and government of Mayfield Village, Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, ALAN G. BENNETT first became associated with the Village <br />as a member of the Mayfield Village Volunteer Fire Department in 1948 <br />and served as a member of that organization until 1962; and <br />WHEREAS, ALAN G. BENNETT was first elected to Council in 1959 <br />and served as a Councilman through 1965; and <br />WHEREAS, ALAN G. BENNETT was then elected Mayor of Mayfield <br />Village, serving in that capacity in 1966 through 1967; and <br />WHEREAS, ALAN G. BENNETT was again elected to Council, serving <br />as a Councilman from 1972 until May 31, 1981; and <br />WHEREAS, ALAN G. BENNETT has served, during his terms on Council, <br />as a member of the Finance Committee, Building Committee, as Council <br />representative to the Planning and Zoning Commission and as President' <br />of Council since January, 1980; and <br />WHEREAS, ALAN G. BENNETT has decided that it is in his best <br />interest, and in the best interest of his family, to move to South <br />Carolina where they will pursue a new business adventure; and <br />'WHEREAS, ALAN G. BENNETT should not be allowed to end his <br />long and distinguished career of service to Mayfield Village without <br />an expression of the appreciation which he rightfully deserves; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT: RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 'l. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />for its own members, on behalf of the entire administration, employees <br />and residents of the municipality, express their deep appreciation and <br />thanks to ALAN G. BENNETT for his faithful and devoted service to <br />Mayfield Village. <br />Section '2. The Clerk is hereby authorized, empowered and <br />directed to prepare duplicate original copies of this Resolution. One <br />such original copy shall be presented to ALAN G. BENNETT as a small token <br />of the esteem in which he is held by the residents, officials, staff <br />members and employees of Mayfield Village, Ohio. The other original <br />shall be placed in the permanent records of the Village as a lasting <br />tribute to ALAN G. BENNETT. <br />Section '3.
