M.V. ORDINANCE NO. 81-55(As Amended) <br />Page -2- <br />(d) Each newly appointed Auxiliary Police <br />Officer shall receive an allowance in an amount not <br />to exceed the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) <br />for the purchase of items necessary to equip such <br />officer. The Chief of Police will issue a purchase <br />order as required. <br />(e) The Finance Director is hereby authorized <br />to reimburse all members of the Police and Fire <br />Departments for expenditures made in accordance with <br />Sections 2(b),(c), and (d), provided, however, that <br />receipted bills evidencing the purchases are submitted <br />together with an approval for payment by the respective <br />Chiefs of the Departments. The Finance Director is <br />further authorized to make such distributions during <br />January and July of each year for the prior six month <br />period. <br />(f) Whenever a uniform item is damaged or destroyed <br />in the line of duty then that item shall be replaced at <br />the cost of the municipality, subject to the recommendation <br />of the Chief of the Department. Whenever a uniform item <br />is lost or destroyed by one of the aforementioned employees <br />in a manner not related to the performance of his duty <br />then that item shall be replaced at the cost of the <br />employee, subject to the recommendation of the Chief of <br />Police. <br />(g) Whenever different or additional uniform items <br />are required due to the promotion of a full-time member <br />of the Police or Fire Department the municipality shall <br />purchase those items for which receipted bills are <br />presented together with an approval for payment from <br />the Chief of the Department. <br />(h) Each full-time member of the Service Department <br />shall be reimbursed for work clothing purchased in an <br />amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) <br />per year. The Finance Director is authorized to make <br />such distributions during January of each year. Receipted <br />bills evidencing the purchases will be submitted to the <br />Building Commissioner for his approval and then on to <br />the Finance Director for payment. The uniform allowance <br />stated herein may also be used for uniform maintenance. <br />(i) Each police officer, excluding the Chief of <br />Police, shall be compensated in addition to the salary <br />set forth in Section 1, for attendance required in Court <br />if such appearance occurs while the police officer is not <br />on duty. The police officer under these circumstances <br />shall be paid the equivalent of two (2) hours additional <br />
