RESOLUTION NO. <br />BY: <br />A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE NORTHERN <br />OHIO PATROLMEN'S BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION <br />(NOPBA) AS THE NON-EXCLUSIVE BARGAINING <br />AGENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE; DECLARING A RESPONSIBILITY FOR <br />CONSULTATION. <br />WHEREAS, certain members of the Police Department have <br />indicated their desire to be represented in personnel matters <br />by the Northern Ohio Patromen's Benevolent Association and its <br />legal counsel; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village has no established procedure <br />for collective bargaining and the recognition of exclusive bargaining <br />agents; and <br />WHEREAS, notwithstanding any of the foregoing, Mayfield <br />Village wishes to cooperate with its employees whenever possible <br />and to preserve to them the right to be represented by counsel <br />and to receive professional advice; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Northern Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent <br />Association (NOPBA) is hereby officially recognized as a bargaining <br />agent for some or all of the members of the Police Department in <br />Mayfield Village and this Department declares its responsibility <br />to communicate with the NOPBA when requested and to consult with <br />the NOPBA regarding prospective changes in salary and working <br />conditions whenever possible. <br />Section •2. This Resolution shall not preclude any indivi- <br />dual member of the Department from being able to represent himself <br />or bargain individually on his behalf. <br />Section 3. All rights granted herein are non-exclusive. <br />Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect at the <br />earliest time .allowed by law. <br />PASSED : <br />APPROVED: <br />Robert G.
