ORDINANCE NO. 80- 57
INTRODUCED BY: COUNCIL AS A WHOLE
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A MODIFIED COMPUTATION
FOR SICK LEAVE TIME FOR FULL-TIME MEMBERS OF THE
FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, full-time members of the Mayfield Village Fire Department
work on a basis of a twenty-four (24) hour work day as opposed to
the standard eight (8) hour work day of other municipal employees; and
WHEREAS, this twenty-four (24) work day by full-time members
of the Fire Department results in a basic work year composed of
three thousand one hundred twenty (3,120) hours as opposed to the
basic work year of two thousand eighty (2,080) hours for other
municipal employees; and
WHEREAS, the sick leave computation for the standard eight (8)
hour work day gives to those employees a maximum of fifteen (15)
work days per year as sick time; and
WHEREAS, applying that same formula for sick leave computation
for full-time firefighters would give them less than a maximum of
fifteen (15) work days per year as sick time; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
Section 1. All full-time members of the Mayfield Village Fire
Department shall be entitled for each completed eighty (80) hours
of service to sick leave of nine and three tenths (9.3) hours with
pay.
Section 2.
