ORDINANCE NO. 80-66 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Councilman Busa <br />AN ORDINANCE INCLUDING THE MAYOR IN THE <br />HOSPITALIZATION AND MEDICAL COVERAGE PLAN <br />OF THE MUNICIPALITY, PROVIDING FOR THE <br />PAYMENT OF PREMIUMS THEREFORE AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village is a chartered home rule municipality, <br />organized and existing in accordance with the Constitution and <br />statutes of the State of Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village, as a chartered home rule municipality, <br />has the authority to exercise all powers of local self-government; <br />now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Effective December 1, 1980 the Mayor of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, shall be considered an employee of the municipality <br />for the purpose of inclusion in the hospitalization and medical <br />coverage plan currently in effect as of said date or any successor <br />plan of hospitalization and medical coverage purchased by the <br />municipality thereafter. The premium for inclusion of the Mayor <br />in such plan shall be paid for by the municipality. <br />Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village in <br />that it will help provide more stable leadership in the office of <br />the Mayor of the municipality. It shall therefore take effect <br />immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than <br />five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or <br />otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law. <br />.~ <br />Alan Bennett, President of Council <br />PASSED : November 17, 1980 <br />APPROVED: <br />Mayor Robert G.
