ORDIATAIVC, N0. 305 <br />By Mr. Hardman g <br />AN ORDINANCE TO EIVTTER INTO A CONTRACT VII^1H TIIE <br />CITY OF UNIVERSITY hEIGIiTS FOR RADIO BROAD- <br />CASTING SERVICE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY ^1HE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE pF PQAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF THE MIl4iBERS ELECTED THERETO COATCURRIidG, TI3AT; ~ , <br />Sec® 1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized, on behalf <br />oz° the Village of Mayf~.eld, to enter into an agro©ment in writing with the <br />City of University Heights, Ohio, for the use of the radio broadcasting <br />facilities of Station V'TkII{, in coxxrtecta.on with the motor vehicles operated <br />by the police department. of the Va.llage of Mayfield, for a.period of six <br />months, and from month to month thereafter, until the agreement is canceled <br />an writing by either party or replaced witki another agreement, such contract <br />to be an interim agreement to be used until the City of University Heights <br />establishes a new unafoizn contract for all municipalities using its broad- <br />casting servicem Such agreement is to provide that the City of University <br />Heights wall broadcast calls and messages on Station WKIK when and as <br />requested 'oy the Village of I~ayfaeld, and that the Village of Mayfield <br />shall pay therefor at the rate of X20.00 per month, or part oy° any month, <br />plus any additional expense incurred by the.Caty of University heights <br />for toll calls, long distance telephone ca11s, telagrains, or charges <br />for excess calls in connection with such service, provided that no <br />charge shall be made except and until broadcasting services are actually <br />rendered by the City of University Heights to the Village of Mayyfield. <br />Sec® 2. There as hereby appropriated from the General Fund <br />of the Village Treasury the sum of X20.00 per month, plus such other <br />ataounts as may be necessary during the t.errn of said contract to pay <br />for the services to be rendered thereunder. <br />Sec. 3. The Mayor, Clerk, Solicitor and Chief of Police <br />are authorized to take such steps and execute such applications and other <br />instruments as may be necessary to obtain the approval of the Federal <br />Communications Comiassion for the use of the above mentioned broadcasting <br />ser~.ce. <br />Sec. 4~ This Ordinance. as deemed to be an emergency measure, <br />necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the <br />Village of I~/Iayfield and its inhabitants, in order to bring about better <br />police protection as soon as possible, and this ordinance shall go into <br />immediate effect upon its passage. <br />Passed this 15Th day of November, 1948® <br />Attest: ~ <br />1 ~ t ~! ~~~~~° ~ ~ Mayor.G= President of Council <br />Seal L Clerk <br />- ~ -- - <br />
