coiatractorts estimates, upon which his payment is based, are <br />presented•to this Council. <br />1f, after the pleas, profiles, specifications and estimates <br />of cost for work authorized -and approved by this Council have been <br />prepared by hizn, the proceedings for such work is abandoned, or is <br />postponed for a period of moiro than six (6) months, or the actual <br />construction of such work is not commenced_within nine (9) months , <br />after the date of delivery of the said plans, profiles, specifications <br />and estimates of cost by him to this Council, then he shall be paid <br />forthwith a sum equal to three per cunt (3~} o-f the ,total estimated <br />cost of said improvements as compensation for all his work done up <br />to that date. <br />Provided, further, that in the event the proceedings for <br />such work, so abandoned, postponed or not commenced, is r©vived <br />and actively pressed either liy this or by a succeeding Council <br />witl~.n five (5) years of the adoption of this ordinance he shall <br />perform the balance os' Cho.services to be rendered, under this <br />.ordinance and not previously rendered, and he shall credit against <br />the total compensation of six per cent (6/) of the total actual <br />cost of the improvem©nt the payment preciously made hereunder, <br />provicling, of course, that he, or his nominee, is at that time <br />employed by this or by a succeeding Council as Engineer <br />The fee provided in this subsection sha]1 cover engineering <br />services including preliiminary estimates and reports, complete <br />detailed plans and specifications and detailed estimates of cost; <br />general supei~rision of construction, including line and grade <br />surveys; preparation of monthly and final estimates for contracto.rts <br />payments. The above schedule of fees does not include propor~-~=, _ <br />boundary or. right oT^ way surveys; inspection of construction; shop, <br />mill, field or laboratory inspection of mat®rials; cost of test <br />borings or other sub-surface explorations; or calculations of <br />spaes.al assessments. These latter services may be provided by him <br />on a per diem basis in- accordayaca z~.th the schedule oz^ rates <br />hereinafter set forth in subsection (b). <br />(b) For all engineering services in coz~ection with any <br />and all public i~.provements constructed by said Village in co- <br />operation with The Works Progress Administration, or other similar Federal <br />Agency, or work. not let by contract, or for special surveys, reports, <br />consultations, conferences with Departments or officers of said Village, <br />or for the preparation of special assessments and. for any and all <br />services not speci Pied above nor incident to nor connected with the <br />construction of public improvements, compensation shall be made on <br />the basis of time spent by hi*!m, or his employees and associates, <br />according to the follot~ring schedule of~ per diem rates, plus expenses, <br />supplies and transpo?-Cation: <br />
