<br />thereonM Such box or pit shall be tightly constructed of wood, metal
<br />or -_zna'sor~~y- materials and shall be provided with a closely fitting
<br />lid and shall be water tight. No manure shall be placed or presort
<br />other than in a box.or pit of the kind herein described, except in the
<br />case of manure piled for fertilizing purposes.
<br />Sec. 7. Maintenance of Manure Pit or Box. It shall be the
<br />duty of every person in possession or control of any premises containing
<br />such a manure pit or box to keep the same tightly covered at all times,
<br />except when manure is being put into or removed therefrom, and to keep
<br />such pit or box in good repair and so as not to leak.
<br />Seco 8. Manuro as Fertilizer, Manure shall not be stacked or
<br />piled for fertilizing purposes unloss all of the following conditions
<br />are complied with:
<br />(a) Said manure shall be stacked or piled at a distance
<br />_ of not less than 100 feet from airy building used in
<br />whole or in part as a place for human habitation or
<br />as a place where food or drink for human consumption
<br />is made, placed, kept or sold;
<br />(b) All manure so stacked or piled shall be complotely
<br />covered with at least 3 inches of soil,
<br />Sec. 9. Depositing Dead Animals and Offensiv+a Substance. No
<br />person, firm or corporation shall deposit_or_oause_to be deposited in
<br />or upon any street, highway, open ditch, creek, pond, stream, gulley,
<br />ravine or water course, or in or upon any yard, lot, premises, or
<br />building, any dead animal, garbage, filth, or other substance that is
<br />f~, putrid, offensive or dangerous or that is detrimental to the
<br />public health.
<br />The o~raer, agent, lessee, or other person having possession,
<br />charge or control of as~y building or premises,upon which any dead animal,
<br />garbage, filth or other substance that is foul-,, putrid, offensive, dangerous "
<br />or detrimental to the public health, has been deposited, shall cause the
<br />same to be removed when ordered to do so by the official charged with
<br />the enforcemsnt of this ordinance.
<br />Secm 10. Prol~,i.bited Material for Filling and Grading. No person,
<br />firm or co rporation shall use or cause to be_used any dead animal or part
<br />thereof or any garbage, filth pr other substance that is or by its
<br />decomposition might become ~~a~3., putrid, offensive or detrimental to the
<br />public health for the purpose of filling or grading any road, ground,
<br />gulley, ravine or water course.
<br />Sec. 11. Enfo~eement. The Service Director and Building Inspector
<br />shall report . to the Chief of Police ax~y violation of this. ordinance. The
<br />Chief of Police and the Police Department shall be ehargod with the
<br />®nforcement of the terms__of this ordinance.
