_ ORDINANCE NO.?{I`?;??- . . <br />, <br />By bRr LYischmeiex°: 7 . . . <br />( - ? <br />An ordinance fixing the salary of the <br />` marshall and declaring an emergency. <br />. Whereas,no compensationhas heretofore been provided for the <br />payment o£ services of the marshal of this v-illage, and <br />Whereas, the marshal eleciced at the last General_Election has ref'used <br />to qualify fbr the vffice for tYie reason that no such salary was provided and <br />the village is unable to obtain a ma•rshall without providing a salary there- <br />fore. Now therefore, <br />Qhio : <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the CounciZ of the Village of Ma,yf ield, State of <br />Section 1. That Ordinance No.2, passed March 2Ist,192; be and the <br />same is hereby amended to reas as fbllovrs: <br />-- Section 4. That the salary of the marshall shall be two hundred dollars <br />f ($200.00) per annum, payable monthly, and he shall be entitZed to receive and <br />I / <br />retain as his flxrther compensation all f'ees taxed in civil and criminal cases <br />for services performed by hiri in his official capacityo He shall give bond <br />in the sum of five hmndred dollars ($500.00), with good and suf'f'icient surety <br />to be appraved by the council. <br />Section 20 That Section 4 of Qjrdinance No. 2, passed Nfarch 21st,1921, <br />be and the same is hereby repealed. <br />Secicion• 3. This ordinance is hereby dec3ared to be an ernergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of tYie public peace, health <br />and safety, the necessity therefbra existing by reason of the fact tjat the <br />vallage is vaithout a marshal and is eonfx°onted with the necessity of filling <br />the office and no person can be fbund who vrill soY•ve as marshal3c without a <br />salary being provided therefor. <br />\1 <br />?
