ORDINAVCE No. 158 <br />BY MR. CORLETT <br />,IN ORDINANCE PROVIDINCT FOR THE EMPLOYNENT OF <br />LEGAL-COUNSEL FOR THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD. <br />VMEPE9S, the Council deems it for the best interest of the vi]lage to <br />provide legal counsel for the sam.e and for the officers thereoi. <br />NOYd, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the CounciZ of the Village of <br />MayfieZd,, Cuyahoga County., State of Ohior <br />Section 1e That the.Iavp firm of Spring, Sayre and Vail be and it <br />is hereby employed to-act as Iega.l counsel for said viuage and the officers <br />thereof in their official capacity, and as such to prosecute or defend all actions' by or against said village, or any department or officer thereof. <br />Section 2. That.it shall prepare and submit to the Council a11 resolu- <br />tions and ordinances of whatsoever character or nature necessary,.for aIl pubZic <br />improvements and for the issuance of bonds and every purpose authorized by Iaw, <br />and that it shall prepare a.I.l other resolutions and ordinances as such are <br />requested by this Council or any department of this village. <br />Section 3. That it shall bs apgointed for a period of one (1) yeax <br />ending January lst, 1936, and shall receive as compensa.tion the sum of Three <br />Hundred.and Sixty Dollars ($360.00) per annum, payable in equal monthly install- <br />ments, which compensation sha1l. cover a11 general services rendered the said <br />village as such Iega1 counsel, provided, however, tha,t 'said Iega1 counsel shall <br />be paid ad.ditional compensation in.the amount of One Hunclrea Do11ars for legal <br />services rendered in connection -uith each improvement made by the village and <br />the preparation of legislation in connection therewithy whieh aciditional compensa- <br />tion shall' in the case of a special assessment improvement, be chargea against <br />the respective improvement anc1 shall be included as a part of the cost thereof, <br />and provided, further that it shall receive the sum of Twenty-five Dollars per' <br />tiem for tine spent i.n court, other than in ldayor's Court, in the Iitigation of <br />vi7lage matters. The compensation herein provir3.ed for, except that to be charged <br />against a special assessment improvement, shall be payable out of the General <br />F.ind of said vilZage. . <br />Section 4. 'I'Yzat any necessasy reasonabZe expenses incu.rred in the <br />perform.a.nce of its duties shall' $fter being approved by this Council be <br />authorized to be paid. <br />Section 5. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an Emergency Or- <br />dinance necessary for the immerliate preserva'uion oi the public health and safety <br />for reasons apgarent from the.contents of this Ordinance. <br />Pa.ssed the I7th day of December, A.
