WI-iER.EAS, the CQUnciZ deems it fcr 'the best interest of the Viltage to <br />provide Iegal counsel for the same and for.the officers thsreaf. <br />NOV?i, T.HEREFORE, BE IT dMAIlVED by the Council of the VilIage of MayfieIdT <br />Cuyahoga County., State of Ohia: <br />Seetion 1. That the Iaw firm of Sayre, Vail and 33carn be and it is <br />hereby empZoyed to act as legal'counsel for said village. and the officer.s <br />thereof in their officiaZ capacity, and.as such to proseeute or defend aIZ <br />actions, by or.against said Village, or any department or o£ficer thereof. <br />Section 2. That it shall prepare and submit to the CounciZ all resolu- <br />tions and ordinances of -vvhatsoEVer character or nature necessary, for all public <br />improvements and for the issuance of bands and every purpose authorizeci by <br />lapu, and that it sha11 prepase aTl ather resolutions and ordi.nances as such <br />are req_uested by this CQUncil or any department.of this Village. <br />Bectian ,3. That it shall be appointed for a period of two (2) years <br />ending December 31st, 1937' and shaLT receive as compensation tha sum of <br />FQUr Hundred and Fifty 3)olla.rs ($45G.CIQ-) per annum, payable in equal monthlp <br />inStallnents, which compensation shall cover aIZ general services rendersd <br />the sa.id ViLla.ge as such legal counseI.s provic3.ed, ha??evever, th.a.t said Iega.l <br />counsel shall be paid additional campensation in the amount of One Hundred <br />Do3la.rs for legal servicss rendered in connection with each improvement made <br />by the ViZTage and the preparation of.legislation in connectian therewith, <br />yvhich adt3.itionalcompensation shall, in the case of a special_ assessment <br />improvement, be charged against the iespectivs improvement an.d shaTl be <br />included as a part of the -cnst thereofs and provided, further that it shall <br />receive the sum of Twenty five Doll"ar.s per diem for time spent in court, <br />other 'than in MaJerr t s Court, in . the 'li.tigatian of Vil7a.ge matters. The com- <br />pensation herein provided for; -except that to be charged against a specia.I <br />assessment improvement, shaLl. be payable 'out af the Genera.l Fund of said Vi7lage. <br />Section 4m That ar?y necessary reasonable expenses incurred in the <br />performance of its duties shallp after being approved by this Council be <br />authQrized to bE payd. <br />Section 5.
