ORDINANCE Iqo. 173 <br />BY NR o PARKER <br />AN ORDINANCE TO PROVTDE F4R A SPECTAL POLICEMAN <br />BE TT ORDkTNED by the Council of the Village of NIayfield, Cuyahoga County, <br />Ohio, that:-' <br />Section l. There is hereby created tne position of special policeman <br />for the Village of i-hayfield. • <br />Section 2, It shall be the duty of the special policeman to perform such <br />duties as are incumbent upon him by the general nature of his office and, in <br />addition thereto, he shall be present at the intersection of S.O.M. Center Road <br />and Wilsons iViills Road during the times vihen the school children are coming to <br />and from school sessions to direct traffic and to assist such school children in <br />safely crossing said intersection. It shall be his further duty to maintain the <br />setver pumps aizd ejectors in good running concaition and to supervise the opera.tion <br />thereof. Said special policema.n sha.ll attend all regular and special meetings <br />of the Council of the Village of NIayfield. In the discharge of his duties said <br />special policeman shall be direetly under the sunervision.and control of the Nayor <br />of 11ltayfield Village. ' <br />Section 3. The position hereby created shall be filled by appointment <br />by the Niayor but such a.ppointment shall be with the approval and consent of the <br />Council of this Village. Section 4.. Such special policeman shal.l be paid the sum of W-elve Hundred <br />Fifty Dol.lars ($1250.00) a year in substantially equal monthly or semi-monthly . <br />installments as full compensation for the duties performed by himf and he shall give <br />bond in the sum of Fzve Hundred Dollars ($=500.00). <br />Section 5. A11 orclinances heretofore passed by this Council conflictin; <br />heretivith, including Ordinance Uo. 161, be, and the same hereby are, repealed and <br />rendered null, void and of no effect. <br />Section 6. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an Emergency Ordinance, <br />necessary for the immecliate preservation of the public health, safety and con- <br />veniEnce for reasons apparent from the contents of this Ordina,nce, anclp thereforep <br />this ordinG.nce shall take effect and be in forc*e from and after Januar,y lst, 1937. <br />Passed December 20th, 1936. <br />-- <br />Attestt iUfayor - President of Council. <br />(SLAL Clerk. <br />- CLEFtK' S CERTIFIC!?TE I, EULtiLTA S.
