fd <br />Sec. 3. Air person soliciting ~rithin this municipality, Whether J- <br />or not req red to register and obtain a perm3.t under the provisions of <br />this ordinance, shall, conform to the following regulations: <br />(a) The Solicitor shall conduct himself at all times <br />- i.ra. an orderly and la~fal manner; <br />(b) When the Solicitor takes a down payment, he shalt <br />_ give a written receipt for the order, which receipt <br />shall be signed by the Solicitor and shall set forth <br />a brief description of the goads wares, merchandise <br />or printed matter ordered the total purchase price <br />thereof, and the amount of the down payment received <br />by the Solicitor from the purchaser. <br />Sec. 1~: 1Nlwever solicits orders for the sale of goods,xares, <br />merchandise or printed matter in or upon private residences in the Village <br />of Mayfield without having registered and obtained a permit (unless <br />exempted under.the terms .of this ordinance) or whoever shall violate any <br />of the provisions of this ordinance, ahall..be guilty of a misdemeanor, <br />and any person found guilty thereof shall be .punished by a fine of not <br />over ~150.~0, or b~.imprisoned for not more than three days, or both, and <br />shall. stand committed until such fine is paid, and each days s violation <br />sha11 constitute a separate offense. - <br />Sec. 5. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measux~, necessary for the-immediate preservation of the public peace, <br />safety and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, in <br />order to safeguard residents of the Village against fraud, ffisrepresen- <br />tation and disorderly conduct on the part of Solicitors, and this <br />ordinance shall. take effect and be in f once on and after the date of <br />its passage. <br />passed this l8th day. of October., 1954. <br />Attests ~ `~ <br />/ 1 c.~/~ ate' l! - ~ =. .... _._. _ <br />Seal _ . - er - <br />
