DEPARTMENT. _ <br />BE IT ORDP.INED BY TI3E COUNCIL OF' THE VILLAGE OF. HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />OHIO, THAT o _ -. _ _ ._ . _ <br />Sec. 1. Section 2y~ of Ordinance No. t~79 entitled: "An Ordinance <br />to Pepeal~ances Tdos. x.02 and 127 and to Provide for the Compensation <br />of the Marshal and Chief of Police and Special Policemen" is hereby <br />amended to read as f olloirs : _ _ - <br />"Sec. 2. ~poin-tment and Tenure. A]1 officers of the <br />Police Department sha71 be appointed by the Mayor, by and with. <br />the consent of Council. Appointment of the Nla.rshal and Ci~ief of <br />Police and regular policemen shall be made according to the laTfrs <br />of the State of Ohio for a probationery period of s?x months <br />continuous service. At the end of such probati.onery period, the <br />Mayor shall transmit ~o Council the record of the services of <br />such appointee, frith his recommendations thereon, and such <br />appointment shall not become final until it is then approved <br />b-~r both the Mayor and Council. After such approval, the term <br />of the person so appointed sha11 be according to the lairs of the <br />State of Ohio. No special policemen shall be appointed for <br />any period exceeding three months at one time." <br />Sec. 2. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 479 entitled: "An Ordinance <br />to Repeal~rdinances Nos. I~02 and 1127 and to provide for.the compensation <br />of the Marshal and Chief of Police and Special Policemen" is hereby amended <br />to read, as follows: _ ~_. _ <br />"Sec. 3. Compensation. The foLowing compensation shall <br />be paid from .and -after the date of -this ordinance but may be cl~iged <br />_~.t arty time by Council by ordinance or resolution: <br />"Marshal or Chi..ef of Police ~?~00.00 prr month <br />_ReguLr Policemen - at the rate of X3800.00 per year. <br />Special Policemen - X1.25 for each hour during which he <br />_ serves as such on assignment by the <br />1`1ayor or Chief of Police . <br />The total number of hours to be served.. by all' Special <br />Policemen during any one weel~ shall not be in excess of 32, <br />but Council may change the maximum number of hours at any <br />time by ordinance or resolution. Special arrangements <br />may be made by Council with Special Policemen whereby <br />they shall not be paid for any police service performed <br />in connection with the operation of their ot~n business." <br />
