Sec, 1s Section 3 of Ordinance No. 479, as amended by Section 2 of Ordinance ~To® 508, entitled: "An Ordinance to Amend Sections 2, 3 and 5 of Ordinance No. 479, by providing for appointment, tenure, compensation, and duties of members of the Police Department", is hereby amended to read, as follows : - - orSec. 3. Compensation. The following compensation shall be paid from and after the date of this Ordinance, but may be changed at any time by Council by Ordinance or Resolution: ~~.oo ~ ca Marshal or Chief of Police - 0;®0• per month. Regular Policemen at the rate of-X3800,00 per year Speci~.l. Policemen - ~a1e25 for each hour during which he serves as such on assignment by the Mayor or Chief of Police. The total number of hours to be served .by all Special - Policemen during any one week sha]1 not exceed 32, but Council may change the maximum number of.. hours at, arty time • by ordinance or. resolution. TPu.s~-~C>rdinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants in order to insure proper respect for the village ordinances and thereby maintain the maximwn police protection and safety, and this ordinance shall be in force and go into effect from and after the date of its passage.
